Firstly, hello to everyone here!
I was wondering if there are any old members here, or any ex-TSL member who might possibly remember me. I'm being transferred to the main grid and I've just realised that I don't know anyone anymore.
I joined Second Life in early 2004 before the teen grid existed. My avatar was Stephen Grayson and I was a n00b as documented by NWN. How Hamlet didn't realise I was underage I will never know. Peacekeepers? WHAT?
When I heard about TSL, I turned myself in. I participated in the closed beta as 782 Naumova which I used for the rest of my stay in Teen Second Life. I was the 22nd person to join and most of the early members will remember me. I also did some equally n00bish things there.
I was for over a year by far the most active forum member, having the highest post count for a very long time and I met a lot of my best SL friends on there. After a while, I became a forum moderator (For those that don't know, forums were never removed from teen second life and still continue there). I started the now defunct #teensl with Alpha Zaius which was pretty popular for a while.
Later TSL members probably won't recognise me. After a few years, I got serious with my school work and my second life suffered.
I'm 18 now and returning to the main grid. I haven't been active in what seems like an eternity and I'm missing having SL friends. I'm trying my best to track down old friends but so far everyone seems to have dropped off the grid.
So, this is it; I'm looking for any old friends that might remember me. It may have been from a long time ago but I'm still keen to hear from anyone. Any old TSL members or anyone that recognises me- I would love to know how you're doing and reminisce about old times. Likewise, meeting with anyone new that wants to hang out in grid would be great.
I'm glad to be here. Thanks for starting this community!

Date: 2009-05-04 11:32 pm (UTC)You must have seen a hell of a lot of changes since 2004. I was briefly inworld (for about 3 months) in 2006 and then rejoined 2 years later, and even in that time I've noticed a lot of differences. That was back in the days when "grey goo" attacks were common, and they'd bring down the whole grid. And if you called for Help, even if you were a basic account holder, a real live Linden would actually turn up and help. Like that would ever happen now.
Normally I'd point a newbie in the direction of The Shelter and the NCI but you probably already know a hundred times more about SL than I do. :-D

Date: 2009-05-05 06:07 pm (UTC)I should have access soon, it's taking LL -forever- to move my accounts. If they don't hurry up, I'll make an alt. I hope they do though, I have a lot of L$ on them.
SL has changed a hell of a lot since I first started... Some good, some bad. The world is a much bigger place now though, and there's a lot more talent.
Ah, I miss live help. THe best thing used to be IMing Lindens to come and help you! In the early days of TSL especially, that was awesome. When TSL got their first liasons, we just used to hang out with them all the time. Can't imagine that happening now!

Date: 2009-05-08 10:26 am (UTC)I'm using METAbolt- My main computer uses Linux and is connected to my network by 80211b, but it;s two floors up from the router. My connection speed is fine for most things, but the linux viewer is buggy at best and that's made a whole lot worse by the connection speed.
As METAbolt is only for windows, I'm running it through VMWare D; Really not an ideal setup haha. So yeah, until I fix my downstairs PC, I don't really have much choice :(
I'll add you in a minute :D If I show no awareness of my position or anything visible, that's because I'm using METAbolt D;
